Academic collaboration will be done by Shiksha Sanskriti Utthaan, New Delhi, Bhartiya Bhasha Manch Nyas, and Department of Hindi, University of Kashmir.
The initiative forms a central part of the ongoing Hindi Pakhwada celebrations (September 14–28) at the institute, aiming to highlight the significance of Indian languages in fostering unity, inclusivity, and cultural integration.
The inaugural session will be graced by LG Manoj Sinha as the Chief Guest, Atul Bhai Kothari, National Secretary of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi, will attend as the Guest of Honour. Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, is the Chief Patron of the seminar.

ed that the seminar will provide an opportunity for scholars and students to engage in meaningful dialogue on how language diversity can be harmonised to reinforce national solidarity.
Registrar NIT Srinagar, Prof. Atikur Rehman, said Institute has always championed initiatives showcasing India’s linguistic and cultural vibrancy.
“At NIT Srinagar, we consistently encourage activities that highlight India’s linguistic and cultural richness. The seminar aligns with our commitment to promote inclusivity, knowledge exchange, and respect for the diversity of Indian languages,” he said.
Prof. Rehman added that the event will inspire the younger generation to value linguistic plurality as an asset to nation-building.
Eminent scholars, academicians, students, and faculty members representing diverse linguistic traditions from across the country will participate. The seminar will feature keynote addresses, scholarly lectures, and panel discussions focused on the interconnectedness of Indian languages.
The seminar will deliberate on the idea that while India is home to 22 scheduled languages and hundreds of dialects, they remain deeply connected, reflecting the nation’s shared identity. The discussions will revolve around three thematic dimensions: Unity in Indian languages and translation, skill development and technology, and one emotion, many languages.
Speakers will underline how linguistic diversity enriches India’s cultural heritage while also contributing to social cohesion.
The Rajbhasha Cell of NIT Srinagar is playing a pivotal role in organising the seminar. The Cell has been instrumental in implementing the Government of India’s Official Language Policy, mandated under Articles 343 to 351 of the Constitution.
In recent years, NIT Srinagar has significantly enhanced the use of bilingual documentation under Section 3(3) of the Official Languages Act, 1963—rising from 0.05 percent to 75 percent.
The event coincides with Hindi Pakhwada, celebrated nationwide from September 14–28. The observance commemorates Hindi Day on September 14, marking the adoption of Hindi as the official language in 1949.
At NIT Srinagar, the fortnight is being marked through essay writing, poetry recitation, debates, workshops, and quizzes to promote Hindi in official work and everyday communication.
The seminar will also highlight the role of the Indian Language Committee, established by the Ministry of Education in November 2021, to promote holistic development of Indian languages under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
