UDHAMPUR, Sept 18: To create awareness among students related to environment and sustainability, the Department of Zoology and Eco Club Government College for Women (GCW), Udhampur under the aegis of Vikasit Bharat@2047 organized Best Out of Waste Competition on the theme “Waste to Eco Craft Challenge” here in the college campus today.
The program was organized under the patronage of Principal Dr. Nalini Pathania. The objective of the competition was to spark the thought among the students regarding recycling and upcycling of waste materials thereby fostering creativity and environmental awareness. The competition was conducted by team comprising of Prof. Rewa Lakhnotra, Dr Neha Anthal and Dr. Anita Kumari. Total of 26 students participated in the competition and they prepared various craft items from the waste material like plastic, beads, newspaper, cardboard, sticks, threads, E-waste etc. The competition was judged by Prof. Rachna Bharti, Prof. Swati Dutt and Prof. Pooja Bharti. Anku Devi and Sonali Devi bagged first position jointly, Prashi Devi got second position and Priya and Mansi Devi shared third position respectively. |
