Early Times Report RS PURA, Sept 26: The Career Counselling Cell of Government Degree College, R.S. Pura, in collaboration with SKUAST-Jammu, organized a one-day Boot Camp under the initiative "Viksit Krishi for Atmanirbhar Bharat" on 26th September 2025 at the college campus. The Boot Camp focused on the emerging themes of Digital Agriculture and Smart Farming, Climate Resilient Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Food Processing, Market Strategy, and Urban Farming. The primary objective of the programme was to inspire students to develop innovative business ideas, promote entrepreneurship, and encourage them to become job providers rather than job seekers. The event also provided insights into the role of Ideathons, Boot Camps, and incubation training in nurturing startups. Detailed information was shared about government-supported schemes such as RKVY-RAFTAAR and other initiatives aimed at promoting agriculture based entrepreneurship. The programme was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Dr. Preetpal Kour, Principal, GDC R.S. Pura, who addressed and encouraged the students to actively engage in such initiatives that contribute to nation-building and self-reliance. The resource persons for the Boot Camp were Dr. Anil Bhat, Associate Director Research, SKUAST-Jammu and Co-Principal Investigator of the JKCIP Project, and Mr. Sahil Gupta, Manager, Incubation, JKCIP Project, SKUAST-Jammu. The programme was conducted in two interactive sessions and the students participated enthusiastically in various activities designed to spark innovation and entrepreneurial thinking. The welcome address was given by Dr. Shivani Manchanda and vote of thanks was given by Dr. Neeru Sawhney Convenor Career Councilling Cell. Other dignatories present in the event were Dr. Rajinder Sharma, Dr. Anupama Pandotra , Dr. Kiran Pathania , Prof.Anju Kumari, Prof. Shally Kalsi, Prof. Meeshu Pandita and Prof. Geetika Goswami. The event encouraged students to learn and explore new ways to support innovative and self-reliant agriculture in India. |
