Samba police seizes 16 quintals adulterated paneer

SAMBA, Sept 26: Samba Police has seized approximately 16 quintals adulterated paneer from 02 passenger buses in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.
Acting on specific information, a team of Police Station Samba laid a naka near SIDCO Chowk Samba and intercepted two passenger buses bearing registration No. AR01V-3149 & No. AR20B-8880. During checking, approximately 10 quintals of paneer was recovered from bus No. AR01V-3149 whereas approximately 06 quintals of paneer was recovered from bus No. AR20B-8880. The buses were moving from Amritsar to Jammu and Delhi to Katra. Police has seized both the vehicles on the spot.
Accordingly, the matter was taken up with the Food Safety Department who have conducted on spot sampling and found that the recovered paneer was adulterated with Vanaspati oil in deteriorated condition and unfit for human consumption.
