Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 26: Keeping the safety and health of passengers paramount, Indian Railways periodically conducts special drives to ensure the quality of food and beverages on trains and at stations. As part of this initiative, a drive was conducted today, September 26, 2025, under the leadership of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. Uchit Singhal. All food stalls operating at the railway station were inspected as part of a routine inspection. During the inspection, it was ensured that all stalls maintained hygiene, quality standards, and adhered to the prescribed rates. Recently, a few days ago, Indian Railways announced a reduction in Rail Neer prices following the reduction in GST rates. Under this, the price of a 1-liter water bottle has been reduced from Rs 15 to Rs 14, and the price of a 500 ml water bottle from Rs 10 to Rs 9. These new rates have also been implemented on all other selected brands of water bottles sold on the railways, effective September 22, 2025. Regarding this new rate, it was ensured at all stalls that Rail Neer water bottles were sold at the new rates, as well as that all water bottles were available at all stalls at the new rates. Divisional Commercial Manager Mr. Uchit Singhal stated that periodic inspections would be conducted at all stations across the division. This would ensure that “all food items available at the stalls are available at the prescribed rates and are of good quality.” |
