Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha recently referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi transforming India into a society driven by innovation and our nation emerging as a global leader in Artificial Intelligence. In today’s India innovation is no longer limited to industries; it has become a permanent part of our society. LG Sinha called on the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to take advantage of the support provided by the Government of India and realize their dreams to become future innovators. Rs 1 lakh crore fund for research, development and innovation, for the next 6 years is accelerating progress in high-priority sectors, ranging from energy security to climate action and deep technologies like Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence. Artificial Intelligence, in particular, has become a transformative force globally, reshaping healthcare, agriculture, governance, and education. By positioning itself as a leader in this domain, India is not only securing its place in the digital economy but also ensuring that technological benefits reach every citizen. Already, AI-based solutions are revolutionizing crop management, medical diagnostics, disaster prediction, and smart governance. These are not abstract concepts but tangible applications that directly impact the lives of ordinary Indians. For Jammu and Kashmir, this transition holds immense promise. The Union Territory, blessed with abundant human talent and a growing network of educational institutions, is well-placed to benefit from the innovation wave sweeping across the nation. The youth of J&K, with their resilience and creativity, can harness the government’s support systems to transform themselves into future innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders in emerging technologies. Schemes promoting startups, incubation centers, and skill development programs are already being implemented across the country, and J&K must not be left behind. The local youth should embrace these opportunities, build upon their ideas, and tap into the national and global ecosystem of innovation. With determination and the right guidance, they can create solutions tailored to the unique challenges and aspirations of the region—be it in tourism, handicrafts, agriculture, or sustainable energy. The larger message is clear: innovation is no longer a privilege of a few, but a democratic force accessible to all. The new India believes in empowering its youth to dream big and equipping them with the resources to achieve those dreams. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s call is timely. It is both a reminder and an invitation—for the young minds of J&K to join this historic transformation. With the government’s backing, and with India’s rising stature in artificial intelligence and deep tech, the possibilities are limitless. |
