Dogri Sanstha Jammu released Santosh Khajuria's Dogri Poetry “SADKAN”

Jammu, Sept 28: Dogri Sanstha, Jammu organized a graceful literary function to release SADKAN, a Dogri poetry collection of late poetess Santosh Khajuria at Kunwar Viyogi Auditorium, Dogri Bhawan, Karan Nagar Jammu. The event was attended by prominent literary personalities, writers, critics, and admirers of Dogri language and culture.
Prof. R. D. Sharma, former Vice-Chancellor of Jammu University and the Chief Guest on the occasion, paid glowing tributes to the late poetess and remarked that SADKAN reflects her sensitive heart and deep concern for society.
He said that although she is no longer among us, her verses will continue to echo in the hearts of readers and serve as a living testimony to her creative spirit.
The function was presided over by Prof. Veena Gupta, Vice President Dogri Sanstha Jammu, a distinguished scholar of Dogri. In her presidential address, she praised the literary journey of Santosh Khajuria and observed that her poetry carries both simplicity and depth, depicting the joys, sorrows, and realities of life with rare honesty.
She further noted that SADKAN is not only a collection of poems but also a tribute to the resilience of a woman who believed in the power of words.
On this ocassion, Rohit Khajuria (Retired JKAS), Santosh Khajuria's son and Vandana Sharma, daughter-in-law also spoke about the contributions of poetess.
Ashok Khajuria, veteran Dogri writer presented a detailed paper on the book and the function was conducted by eminent Dogri poet Susheel Begana.
The vote of thanks was presented by Rajeshwar Singh ‘Raju’, General Secretary, Dogri Sanstha Jammu. While acknowledging the efforts of Dogri Sanstha, Jammu, in promoting Dogri literature, he also extended heartfelt gratitude to the family members of the poetess, who stood by her and supported her creative pursuits.
He said, the release of SADKAN was seen not just as a literary event, but as a heartfelt homage to late Santosh Khajuria.
The programme was attended by a large number of writers, poets, scholars, and admirers of Dogri literature.
The presence of her family members during the release of SADKAN, added an emotional and memorable touch to the occasion.
