GDC Darhal organises debate competitions under Sewa Parv

Darhal, Sept 30: The Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal organized a debate competition under the nationwide Seva Parv initiative, celebrated with great enthusiasm and academic fervor under the esteemed supervision and guidance of the Principal of the college, Professor Zamir Ahmed Mirza.
The event was a significant step in aligning the students and faculty with the vision of the Government of India to inculcate the spirit of service, responsibility, and nation-building among youth.
The program commenced with a welcome note, after which Prof. Saleem Wani delivered a detailed lecture highlighting the importance, objectives, and vision of Seva Parv.
He emphasized that the initiative reflects the Government of India’s broader mission of “Nation First, Citizen First”—urging citizens to adopt small but meaningful changes in their daily lives, which collectively contribute to national transformation.
A large number of students from the 1st, 3rd, and 5th semesters actively participated in the debate competition.
They presented their views on diverse and thought-provoking topics such as “Role of Youth in Nation-Building,” “Environmental Protection as a National Duty,” “Digital India and Its Impact on Rural Development,” and “Education as a Tool for Social Transformation.”
The participants spoke with zeal, showcasing both their oratory skills and awareness about pressing issues of contemporary India.
On this occasion, eminent faculty members including Dr. Taseem Ahmed, Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, and Prof. Anzar Ahmed also addressed the gathering.
They highlighted critical challenges and opportunities of present-day India, such as the need for sustainable development, women empowerment, communal harmony, and the importance of service-oriented leadership.
Their words inspired students to take a proactive role in shaping a progressive society.
The event was smoothly and successfully coordinated by a team of dedicated faculty members: Dr. Raja Shahid, Dr. Mohd Shakeel Kataria, Dr. Atta Ul Rehman, Dr. Mohd Shakoor, Prof. Beenish, Dr. Abdul Ghani Majid, Mr. Altaf Hussain, and Mr. Jameel Ahmed. Their tireless efforts and active participation ensured the impactful execution of the program.
In his concluding remarks, the Principal, Professor Zameer Mirza, appreciated the efforts of the organizing team, the participating students, and the faculty members who contributed to the success of the event.
He reiterated that Seva Parv is not merely an event but a movement of collective responsibility, inspiring citizens to engage in service and contribute towards the vision of a self-reliant and prosperous India.
