kathua, Sept 30: In alignment with the ongoing nationwide campaign "Seva Pakhwada" (Seva Parv) commemorating the spirit of service and civic responsibility, the 4 J&K Bn NCC Unit (Boys and Girls) of Government Degree College, Kathua, organized a Cleanliness Pledge Ceremony followed by a Campus Cleanliness Drive in the college premises. The event began with the enthusiastic participation of NCC cadets, faculty members, and staff, who gathered to take a solemn Cleanliness Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to keeping their surroundings clean and spreading awareness about hygiene and sanitation. Following the pledge, the cadets, armed with brooms, gloves, and collection bags, undertook a rigorous cleanliness drive across the college campus. Key areas like classrooms, corridors, lawns, and parking zones were thoroughly cleaned. The activity aimed not only to beautify the campus but also to instill a sense of discipline, environmental consciousness, and community service among the youth. The worthy principal of the college, Dr. Savi Behl lauded the initiative and commended the cadets for their discipline, civic sense, and active contribution to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. She emphasized that such efforts not only help in maintaining cleanliness but also nurture a strong sense of social responsibility among the youth. The event was conducted under the able guidance of worthy principal Dr. Savi Behl and coordinated by NCC ANO Lt. (Dr.) Daya Ram and CTO Dr. Pinkey. This initiative was a part of a series of activities under "Seva Parv", which marks the celebration of service, volunteerism, and contribution to nation-building.
