Modi govt providing major relief to disaster-affected families in J&K: Balbir
9/30/2025 10:12:58 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 30: Jammu & Kashmir BJP spokesperson and former Vice Chairman Balbir Ram Rattan, while talking about a historic and people-centric decision, said that the central government has approved the construction of 5,061 new houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) for Jammu & Kashmir. This decision has come as a big relief for families who lost their homes due to natural disaster and have been waiting for rehabilitation.
Balbir Ram Rattan stated that this decision is a clear testament to the Modi government's welfare-oriented, sensitive approach. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government is continuously working for the upliftment of every section of society in Jammu & Kashmir, especially those facing crises. He added that this move will not only provide affected families with a safe roof over their heads but will also enable them to live their lives with dignity once again.
Balbir mentioned that the construction of these houses will be 100% funded by the central government, ensuring that beneficiaries bear no financial burden. This will ensure that no eligible family has to resort to loans or face financial difficulties for rehabilitation.
Balbir Ram Rattan further said that this scheme is a practical embodiment of the Modi government's core mantra of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas. This decision also symbolizes the government's commitment to stability, reconstruction, and inclusive development in Jammu & Kashmir.
He added that the implementation of this scheme will not only benefit the affected families but will also create new employment opportunities for local labourers, artisans, and construction material suppliers, thereby boosting the regional economy.
Balbir expressed heartfelt gratitude to the central government, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Rural Development Minister, and urged the local administration to finalize the lists of beneficiaries as soon as possible and initiate the work on a priority basis, so that the affected families can receive new shelters before the onset of winter.
He also emphasized that it must be ensured that no eligible individual is left out from availing this benefit.
