Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 1: The UGC- Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC) at the Central University of Jammu successfully concluded an intensive eight-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) under the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) initiative, held from September 23 to October 01, 2025. This scholarly endeavour brought eminent academicians from across India to delve into the enduring significance of indigenous intellectual traditions. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, graced the event, reaffirming the university's strong dedication to promoting and safeguarding Indian Knowledge Systems. He emphasized that our university integrates IKS into both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Moreover, it dedicates research efforts to reviving and enriching this valuable heritage. On 23rd September, Dr. Krishna Reddy Chittedi, Associate Professor, University of Hyderabad, delivered a lecture on Integrating IKS into Modern Curriculum: Why and How, followed by Prof. Mahesh Kulharia, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, who spoke on Ancient Research Methodology: The Way to Enlightenment. On 24th September, Prof. Y. S. Alone from Jawaharlal Nehru University presented "Indian Art and Architecture: Theory and Practice," and Prof. Sunil K. Thakur from the Central University of Himachal Pradesh addressed a broad overview and sources of Indian Knowledge Systems. On 25th September, Prof. Anil Pratap Giri, University of Allahabad, delivered a lecture on "Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye," and Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar of the Central University of Jammu, spoke on "Technology Use and Integration in NEP 2020." On 26th September, Prof. Ram Nath Jha, JNU, lectured on Sapta Sindhu Kshetra aur Bhartiya Gyan Parampara, followed by Dr. Shankar Paripally, NIEPA, on The Changing Perspective of Research in the Context of NEP 2020. On 27th September, Dr. Chintala Venkata Sivasai, Gautam Buddha University, spoke on The Significance of Buddhist Ethics in the Indian Knowledge System, and Dr. Mukesh Kumar Mirotha, Jamia Millia Islamia, discussed Bharatiya Gyan Parampara mein Bhakti Andolan ka yogdan. On 29th September, Prof. D. D. Sharma, Himachal Pradesh University, delivered a lecture on Academic Leadership, followed by Prof. Sudeep Kumar Jain, SLBSNSU, who spoke onBharatiya Gyan Parampara aur Syadvad. On 30th September, Dr. Vikas Singh, Central University of Jammu, presented on Bharatiya Gyan Parampara main Yoga, and Dr. Kasi Eshwarappa, IGNTU, lectured on Research Methodology. The programme concluded on 1st October with two sessions: Prof. C. Upender Rao, JNU, on Sanskrit is the Foundational Language of Indian Knowledge Systems, and Dr. Vinayak Rajat Bhat, Chanakya University, on Indian Knowledge Systems: Myths and Facts. Speaking after the event, Prof. Neelika Arora, Director of MMTTC, emphasised that the FDP effectively illustrated the enduring relevance and interdisciplinary scope of Indian Knowledge Systems. |
