ZPHQ, RPHQ JSK observe Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan under Sewa Parv | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 1: In pursuance of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva Hai campaign and to mark the spirit of Sewa Parv, as part of the ongoing Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan 2025, a special cleanliness drive was organised today in the premises of Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ) Jammu and Range Police Headquarters (RPHQ) Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK Range). The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of senior officers and staff, led by Sh. Bhim Sen Tuti, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, accompanied by Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS, Deputy Inspector General, JSK Range; Sh. Shamsheer Hussain, SSP, SO to IGP Jammu; Sh Sanjay Sharma, SSP, SO to DIG JSK, and other officers. Personnel from both headquarters joined hands with full commitment and zeal in the collective effort to promote cleanliness and hygiene. Sh. Farooq Qaiser, JKPS, SSP Traffic Jammu and personnel from the Traffic wing also joined later. Speaking on the occasion, IGP Jammu Zone underlined the importance of cleanliness not only as a civic duty but as a personal and organisational responsibility. He highlighted that "Cleanliness is not just about the removal of dirt, it is about discipline, dignity and respect for the environment we live and work in." He called upon all police personnel to set an example for society by maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in offices, barracks, and residential areas, making it an integral part of daily life. The IGP also emphasised that such initiatives reflect the values of service, dedication, and responsibility that are at the core of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. He exhorted officers and officials to extend the spirit of Swachhata beyond official premises into their communities, thereby inspiring the public to actively contribute towards a cleaner and healthier India. During the drive, officers and officials cleaned the premises of both ZPHQ Jammu and RPHQ JSK, carried out sweeping of pathways, proper waste disposal, removal of plastic and non-biodegradable items, and general upkeep of the surroundings. The collective participation created a sense of unity and shared responsibility, aligning with the motto of "Clean Bharat, Healthy Bharat." The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment of Jammu Zone Police to continue supporting and implementing the vision of the Swachh Bharat Mission, ensuring that cleanliness remains an enduring habit and not just a symbolic activity. |
