During the past few years, the Central and J&K governments have been focussing on youth empowerment. Giving positive direction to Yuva Shakti of J&K has become the top priority with youngsters emerging as catalysts for change. Youth have understood that it’s their responsibility to create a developed India and fulfil the PM Modi’s mission of making ‘Bharat Viksit’ by 2047. The PM Modi led dispensation has always reiterated that under his regime is committed to harnessing the potential of youth and providing them with the resources they need to achieve their full potential. The youth of Jammu and Kashmir are no longer content with being passive spectators in the journey of nation building. They have realised that they are the drivers of change, responsible for shaping a stronger India. By actively participating in education, entrepreneurship, sports, technology, and social initiatives, they are becoming catalysts for transformation. This spirit is in alignment with PM Modi’s vision of a developed nation that is youthful, innovative, and inclusive. The initiatives launched in J&K over the past few years are testimony to this commitment. From skill development programs under Mission Youth, to livelihood opportunities, startup support, and modern education reforms, the government is investing heavily in human capital. Youth engagement in sectors such as IT, agriculture, tourism, handicrafts, and sports is creating avenues that were unimaginable just a decade ago. The establishment of new universities, professional colleges, and world-class infrastructure has given the young population a sense of belonging to a progressive India. Importantly, the focus is not just on economic empowerment but also on providing platforms for self-expression and leadership. Sports events, cultural festivals, and innovation hubs are encouraging the youth to showcase their talent on global platforms. The rise of young achievers from the Union Territory, whether in civil services, athletics, entrepreneurship, or arts, has instilled confidence in the larger society that the new generation is ready to lead. Prime Minister Modi has often reiterated that India’s greatest strength lies in its youth, and his government has consistently prioritised their aspirations. At the same time, youth empowerment is also contributing to social harmony and stability. When young people are given a positive direction, they become partners in development rather than being drawn into negativity. This is particularly significant for Jammu and Kashmir, where the dividends of peace are now being felt at the grassroots level. |
