JALANDHAR, Oct 10: Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office (JKBO), organized the Stakeholders' Conclave 2025. This event was organized as a part of the World Standards Day 2025. The even saw participation from more than 50 Industrialists of Jalandhar. In the inaugural address, Sh. Tilak Raj, Director BIS JKBO said World Standards Day (October 14) connects with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by highlighting how standards enable the collaboration needed to achieve the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Each year on 14 October, the members of the IEC, ISO and ITU celebrate World Standards Day, which is a means of paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of thousands of experts worldwide who develop the voluntary technical agreements that are published as International Standards . Pankaj Atri, Joint Director, BIS-JKBO, also addressed the gathering, stressing the vital role of BIS in creating a culture of standardisation. "BIS is committed to ensuring that consumers get quality products and services, and such initiatives help in building trust between industry and consumers," he said. Standards provide a shared framework and language that allows diverse groups like industries, governments, and organizations to work together effectively on complex global challenges. This partnership is essential for progress, innovation, and sustainability. Simrjot Singh, GM DIC Jalandhar in his inaugural address has said BIS should help industries in achieving the quality by arranging industry specific leaning programmes. Ajay Goswami from Ajay Industries in his address said, that industries are ready to implement Indian Standards and QCOs. He requested BIS for smooth implementation of QCOs and reduction in Product certification Marking Fee. Ashwini Kumar, Victor Tools and Mr. Suresh Sharma, HR industries in their addresses have requested BIS to reduce burden of inspection and ease the process of obtaining BIS license.
