Jammu, Oct 10: In a major counter-terror operation aimed at dismantling the terror ecosystem and cracking down on unlawful networks, Srinagar Police on Friday launched a series of coordinated raids across the city, tightening the noose around overground workers (OGWs) and associates of proscribed terrorist organizations.
The massive search operation, carried out under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), marks one of the most extensive anti-terror drives in recent months, underscoring the police’s zero-tolerance policy toward any element aiding militancy in the region.
According to official sources, simultaneous raids were conducted at multiple locations, including Malabagh, Ellahibagh, Anchar, Sazgaripora, Hawal, Ikhrajpora, Baghat, Dangerpora, Hazratbal, Lal Bazar, and Lawaypora. The operation targeted individuals suspected of facilitating, financing, or providing logistical support to terror networks operating in and around Srinagar.

All searches were conducted in accordance with legal procedures, in the presence of Executive Magistrates and independent witnesses, and under the close supervision of senior J&K Police officers.
During the operation, several digital devices, documents, and other incriminating materials were seized. Officials said the recovered evidence will be subjected to forensic analysis to trace communication links and funding channels associated with terror activities.
Police sources described the operation as part of a larger intelligence-driven effort to pre-empt and disrupt emerging terror conspiracies that pose a threat to public peace and national security.
A senior police officer said the operation was a clear message to anti-national elements that any attempt to revive or sustain terror networks in Srinagar will be met with decisive action.
“Srinagar Police is fully committed to dismantling every layer of the terror support structure. Anyone found aiding, abetting, or sheltering terrorists will face the full force of the law,” the officer asserted.
This sweeping crackdown reflects the unwavering resolve of Srinagar Police to maintain peace, ensure public safety, and safeguard the city from attempts to destabilize it through terror-linked activities.
