Jammu, Oct 15: he Post Graduate Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, DAV College, Amritsar, successfully continued the Six-Day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “AI for Atmanirbhar Bharat: Empowering Innovation, Industry and Inclusive Growth”, sponsored by the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy. The FDP, being held from October 13 to 18, 2025, aims to enhance faculty understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its role in driving innovation and self-reliance in India. Day two, two insightful sessions were conducted. The first session, titled “Future of AI in India: Vision 2047”, was delivered by Mr. Amandeep Modgil, Enterprise Architect, KPMG, Australia, who shared his expert perspective on India’s AI roadmap and the nation’s vision to become a global leader in technology-driven growth. In his engaging presentation, Mr. Modgil highlighted the role of Artificial Intelligence and data-driven innovation in achieving India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. He discussed real-world applications of AI in industry, the importance of digital transformation, and how emerging technologies can contribute to sustainable growth and self-reliance. The second session, “AI Impacts and Applications in Manufacturing and Retail”, was conducted by Mr. Pawan Kumar ADM from the Open Source Technologies Unit of Infosys, Germany. He highlighted the transformative influence of AI in optimizing industrial processes and retail innovation, emphasizing real-world applications and the integration of open-source platforms.He rightly pointed out, AI has become a powerful catalyst in the manufacturing industry, making production processes faster, safer, and smarter through innovations like automated assembly, quality inspection, and defect detection. These advancements not only enhance productivity but also contribute to the overall goal of building a technologically self-reliant India. The college Principal Dr Amardeep Gupta informed that the sessions received enthusiastic participation from faculty members across various institutions. The resource persons were highly appreciated for their engaging presentations and practical insights. Prof. Vikram Sharma serving as Coordinator and Prof. Puneet Sharma as Co-Coordinator added that the FDP continues to serve as a valuable platform for academic enrichment, promoting the use of Artificial Intelligence as a catalyst for an innovative, inclusive, and self-reliant India.
