Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 15: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said that Pakistan and its terror network have, for over three decades, propagated a false narrative to mislead people and cover up the country’s own role in fostering violence and bloodshed in the Union Territory. “Pakistan, the breeding ground of terrorism, stands completely exposed before the world. Those who peddled fake narratives on behalf of terrorists and acted as mouthpieces of Pakistan’s terror machinery will be brought to justice,” the Lieutenant Governor asserted. The LG made these remarks during his visit to Dardpora in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, where he met the families of civilians killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists. Later, while addressing a gathering of terror victim families at the Government Degree College, Kupwara, Sinha assured them of comprehensive rehabilitation, dignity, and justice, emphasizing that the government would ensure the strictest punishment for those involved in the killings. “The criminal justice system will ensure that all perpetrators and elements of the terror ecosystem are held accountable, providing a sense of closure to the victims’ families and the society at large,” the Lieutenant Governor said. Sinha reiterated that justice, respect, and dignity for the families of civilian martyrs remain his topmost priority. “I have assured the family members that their decades-long trauma and suffering are coming to an end. The administration will extend every possible support to help them rebuild and reclaim their lives,” he said. Highlighting the immense hardships faced by these families, the LG said they have endured emotional trauma, economic challenges, and educational deprivation for decades. “Families of civilians killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists also faced systemic barriers that stifled their progress and denied them access to resources. All such obstacles have now been removed, and we are committed to ensuring justice and dignity for every affected family,” he added. The Lieutenant Governor paid homage to the innocent civilians brutally killed by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. Families of terror victims also shared their experiences and narrated their personal ordeals and struggles during the interaction. “It is difficult to express the depth of pain and suffering endured by these families. Their profound emotional and psychological trauma requires that every case be handled with utmost sensitivity and responsibility,” Sinha said. The LG informed that around 250 families of terror victims have so far been provided with government jobs, and the process will continue until every affected family receives justice. “This marks the beginning of a new era of justice and accountability in Jammu and Kashmir,” he emphasized. Sinha also referred to a recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the High-Range Rural Development Society (HRDS India) and the Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, under which houses will be constructed for terror victim families whose homes were destroyed by terrorists but who possess their own land. The HRDS India, in coordination with divisional authorities, will identify eligible families and oversee the construction work. Condemning Pakistan’s continued attempts to destabilize peace in Jammu and Kashmir, the Lieutenant Governor said, “The terror factory across the border has, for decades, spread lies to mislead the people and absolve itself of its crimes. But Pakistan now stands exposed before the global community.” Senior officials including Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg, DIG North Kashmir Range Maqsood-ul-Zaman, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, SSP Kupwara Syed Al-Tahir Gilani, and Chairman of Save Youth Save Future Foundation Wajahat Farooq Bhat, along with other members of the foundation, were present during the visit. |
