Jammu, Oct 15: As part of its continuous outreach initiatives, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu hosted a group of 58 students and 7 escorts from Army Camp Reasi — including Super-30 students and students from the 7th and 8th standards of Tender Feet School, Keri, run by Army Camp Reasi. The educational visit was organized by the Department of Outreach and Skill Development under the guidance of Prof. Manoj Singh Gaur, Director, IIT Jammu, Prof. Meenakshi Rajeev, Dean (Outreach and Skill Development), and Dr. Sameer K.S.P., Associate Dean (Outreach and Skill Development). The visit aimed to inspire young minds and expose them to the world of science, technology, and innovation. The students explored key facilities, including the Biology Lab, Central Workshop, and Physics Lab, where faculty and staff provided hands-on demonstrations and interactive explanations. An interactive session with Dr. Sameer Sarma motivated the students to stay focused on their goals and strengthen their academic foundations. Adding to the excitement, a live demonstration on Robotics and Machine Learning was conducted by Ashutosh Vishwakarma, a final-year student at IIT Jammu. He shared his journey to IIT, showcasing practical applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), which sparked curiosity and enthusiasm among the visiting students. Col. Hari Prasad, who led the delegation, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the IIT Jammu team for their warm hospitality and commendable initiative. He encouraged the students to dream big and make the most of such enriching educational opportunities. The visit concluded with light refreshments and a renewed sense of inspiration among the young learners, marking another successful effort by IIT Jammu to bridge learning and opportunity through outreach and skill development.
