Majalta, Oct 15: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government Degree College Majalta organised an Induction Programme for the newly admitted students with an aim to familiarize them with the institutional environment, academic guidelines, and student support systems. The programme was held under the patronage of Principal Dr. Shalini Sharma, who welcomed the freshers and motivated them to maintain discipline, punctuality, and sincerity in academics. She emphasized that college life is a foundation for personality development and future success, urging students to actively participate in all academic and co-curricular activities. The event was conducted by Dr. Chander Mohan, IQAC Convenor, who apprised the students about various aspects of college functioning including discipline, punctuality, internal assessment tests, participation in cultural programs, use of the library, student–teacher ratio support system, and salient features of the New Education Policy (NEP). Prof. Kamaljeet, Head of the Department of Hindi, delivered an inspiring talk on “How to Become a Successful Writer, Orator, and Future Leader”, encouraging students to develop communication skills, creativity, and confidence. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Naresh Kumar, Head of the Department of Dogri, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, faculty, and students for their active participation. The induction programme proved highly beneficial in acquainting the students with the ethos and functioning of the institution and motivating them to begin their academic journey with enthusiasm and commitment. |
