Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 15: In a significant administrative development, the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has ordered the promotion of ten Civil Judges (Junior Division) to the cadre of Civil Judges (Senior Division) on an adhoc basis. The promotions were made after considering comparative seniority, vigilance reports, and overall performance of the officers in terms of Rule 7 of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Judicial Service Rules, 2025. Those promoted include Maleeka Sharma, Ananta Raina, Shabir Ahmad Malik, Altaf Ahmad Mir, Meera Bangotra, Assma Chowdhary, Urvashi Raina, Anjeet Singh, Suhasni Vasistha, and Tarun Mahajan. The order makes it clear that the promotions are purely temporary and will not confer any right of regular promotion or seniority. The promotees will continue to serve at their present postings until formal adjustments are notified. In case sufficient posts are unavailable, they may be reverted to their original cadre of Civil Judges (Junior Division). The order was issued under No. 563 of 2025/RG, dated October 15, 2025, by the Registrar General (Officiating) of the High Court. Copies of the notification have been circulated to all Principal District and Sessions Judges of both Union Territories, the Registrar Vigilance, Registrar Rules, Registrar Computers, and other relevant authorities for compliance and record.
