| Teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji inspire humanity, equality, and truth: Balbir | | | early times report
Jammu, Nov 5: Balbir Ram Rattan, a follower of Guru Ravidass ji, expressed his reverence for Guru Nanak Dev ji on the occasion of the sacred Prakash Utsav, stating that Guru Nanak Dev ji’s words provide invaluable guidance for all of us. His teachings continue to inspire society to follow the path of love, unity, equality, and truth even today. Balbir Ram Rattan said that the message “Ik Onkar Satnam Karta Purakh,” delivered by Guru Nanak Dev ji over five centuries ago, remains just as relevant in today’s modern era. He explained that Guru ji taught that God is one, and all humans are manifestations of that same divine presence. Therefore, no one should face discrimination. Guru Nanak Dev ji emphasized equality, brotherhood, and the spirit of service in society. Balbir said that Guru Nanak Dev ji’s words “Na koi bairi, na koi bigana, sagal sang humko ban aayi” teach us not to harbour enmity toward anyone, nor to consider anyone as an outsider. We should treat everyone with love, cooperation, and respect. This is the true religion of humanity and should be the real purpose of life. He further said that the principle Guru Nanak Dev Ji gave — “Naam Japna, Kirat Karni, and Vand Chakna” — can serve as a life ideal for every individual. His message is not limited to religious texts but represents a social and spiritual reform movement that spread the message of peace, brotherhood, and equality across the world. Balbir Ram Rattan also said that Guru Nanak Dev ji taught through his life that true devotion is not in rituals or ceremonies alone but in serving humanity. He taught that when we understand and help alleviate the pain and suffering of others, that is the true worship of God. Balbir stated that everyone should rise above religion and caste and adopt Guru Nanak Dev ji’s teachings in their lives. If we practice his principles of truth, service, compassion, and equality, the atmosphere of peace, harmony, and humanity in society will become even more stronger.
