early times report

Amritsar, Nov 5: A cohort of students of DAV College Amritsar visited the Golden Jubilee Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (GJCEI) for an immersive learning experience focused on the future of business ventures and technology ideas. This visit was conducted by the Economics department in collaboration with Institutions Innovation council.
The College Principal Dr Amardeep Gupta informed that the visit was designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world practice, providing students with a firsthand look at a dynamic ecosystem where ideas are nurtured into viable enterprises. The itinerary featured a comprehensive tour of the state-of-the-art facilities, including the co-working spaces, prototyping labs, and dedicated incubation pods where startup founders are currently developing groundbreaking solutions. Students witnessed live product demonstrations and engaged in a vibrant interactive session with GJCEI’s in-house mentors and a panel of successful startup founders.
A highlight of the visit was an address by Coordinator Dr Balwinder Singh, Dr Harkirandeep Kaur, who shared the entrepreneurial journey, from conceptualizing an idea at university to scaling a business with global aspirations. He emphasized the importance of resilience, market validation, and leveraging institutional support like that provided by the GJCEI.
IIC Convener Dr Manpreet Kaur said that seeing a functioning innovation centre in action, meeting real entrepreneurs, and understanding the support structure available has made the path to starting their venture feel much more tangible and achievable.
Pardeep Dutta commented on the collaboration, stating, “It is always invigorating to host the next generation of innovators and thinkers. Our mission at the Golden Jubilee Centre is to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit."
The session concluded with a dynamic Q&A where students posed questions on topics ranging from securing seed funding to navigating early-stage challenges, receiving candid and practical advice from the experts.Prof Manish Kapoor and Dr Sakshi were also present on the occasion.
