Ramnagar, Nov. 8: As part of the commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of Vande Mataram, Government Degree College Ramnagar organized a Quiz Competition on the theme “National Song: Vande Mataram” under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, Principal, GDC Ramnagar. Three teams — Team A, Team B, and Team C, comprising six students each, enthusiastically participated in the competition and showcased their knowledge about the history, significance, and spirit of India’s national song Vande Mataram. The participants answered a series of questions related to the origin, composers, and cultural relevance of the song with great zeal and confidence. The quiz was adjudged by Prof. Eisha Gohil, Prof. Parminder Kumar, and Prof. Sanjay Malhotra, who appreciated the students’ awareness and active participation. Team B was declared as winner in the quiz competition. The event was coordinated by Prof. Ritika Mahajan (HOD, Chemistry) and Prof. Sanjay Malhotra (HOD, Commerce), who ensured smooth conduct of all rounds. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal congratulated the participants and organizers for their efforts in celebrating the glorious legacy of Vande Mataram. He remarked that such activities not only honour the nation’s cultural heritage but also instil a deep sense of patriotism and pride among students. He further encouraged students to stay connected with the ideals of unity and devotion embodied in Vande Mataram. The programme concluded with the announcement of results and a vote of thanks to all participants, judges, and coordinators for making the event a success.
