Ganderbal, Nov 12: In a major, well-coordinated operation, J&K Police carried out extensive Search operations at multiple locations across District Ganderbal, targeting individuals and premises associated with the proscribed organization Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The district-wide counter–terror and anti-separatist operation was conducted simultaneously in several areas with the assistance of other security agencies. The action followed credible intelligence inputs indicating attempts by JeI-linked elements to revive organizational activities through covert channels and front groups. During the raids, a large quantity of incriminating materials including documents, digital devices, and printed content having direct links with the banned outfit were recovered and seized for detailed analysis. Several suspects have been detained for questioning to ascertain their role in unlawful and subversive activities, police Spokesperson said. These operations form a crucial part of J&K Police’s sustained preventive strategy aimed at dismantling the terror–separatist ecosystem, cutting off its ideological, financial, and logistical networks, and ensuring that peace and normalcy remain undisturbed in the district. J&K Police reiterates its firm resolve to continue operations against all individuals and entities associated with proscribed organizations and terror networks, ensuring lasting peace, stability, and security across the district. |
