Jammu, Nov 13: The Director Animal Husbandry Department Jammu, Dr. Sanjay Gupta today flagged-off a group of 25 progressive farmers for a four-day long Inter-state Exposure Tour to be held at CSK HP Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur (Himachal Pradesh). The tour was flagged-off from the office complex of the Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Talab Tillo, Jammu and has been organized under the centrally sponsored, ATMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency) scheme with an objective of exposing our farmers to advanced scientific practices and technologies in dairy and livestock management. The batch comprises of 25 progressive farmers from different districts of Jammu division who will interact with experts, visit model dairy farms and witness demonstrations on scientific livestock feeding, breeding, disease management etc. practices being adopted at the said university. Speaking on the occasion, the Director emphasized the importance of adopting modern animal husbandry practices for enhancing productivity and profitability in the livestock sector. The farmers shall be accompanied by the staff of the Publicity Wing, led by Extension Officer, Dr. Mohd. Sajjad during the training programme. |
