Jammu, Nov 13: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu, under the visionary leadership of Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, hosted an Educational Exposure Visit for 33 students belonging to the village Gurha Slathia, Samba District from Government School, Gurha Slathia (ranging from Class V to Graduation).
The visit was coordinated on part of Guidance and Counseling Cell for Youth Development, Gurha Slathia, as part of IIM Jammu’s outreach initiative to promote academic awareness and inspire young minds across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The visiting delegation was accompanied by teachers Shri Veerpratap Singh, Shri Akhil Salathia, and Ms. Aarushi Salathia from Guidance and Counseling Cell for Youth Development, Gurha Slathia.
The students received a warm and enthusiastic welcome at Bharatiya Prabandhan Sansthan Jammu (IIM Jammu), beginning with the iconic Clock Tower, followed by a comprehensive campus tour that included the Grand Reception Area, Mandapam Auditorium, Vedanta MDP Block, Vishrantika Faculty Lounge, Manthan (Senate Hall), Smart Classrooms, Courtyard Area, Nalanda Library, Rangmanch Amphitheatre, and Jalpan Kendra. At the Vedanta MDP Centre, they were given an insightful overview of Bharatiya Prabandhan Sansthan Jammu (IIM Jammu), along with a detailed introduction to the Executive Education and Consultancy Division, its various training programs, and career-related counselling opportunities. The visit commenced with the campus scale model, offering students a holistic understanding of IIM Jammu’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and its future expansion vision.
During the academic interaction, the delegation was introduced to the diverse academic programs offered at IIM Jammu and the Centres of Excellence that foster innovation, research, and societal development. The visit to the Nalanda Library equipped with digital resources, advanced reading zones, and Bloomberg Terminals for real-time financial analysis left the students deeply inspired, reflecting IIM Jammu’s commitment to global learning standards.
As part of the experience, students viewed audio-visual films showcasing the evolution of IIM Jammu since its inception in 2016, its pursuit of academic excellence, and its contribution to nation-building. They also explored IIM Jammu’s official website and social media platforms, encouraging them to stay informed about admissions, scholarships, academic programs, and student initiatives.
The students and accompanying teachers were briefed on IIM Jammu’s global recognition, including its prestigious dual international accreditations, BGA (Business Graduates Association) Institutional Accreditation and EFMD Programme Accreditation for its MBA program. With these achievements, IIM Jammu joins the top five IIMs in India to have earned dual international accreditation and is the only second- and third-generation IIM in the country to do so. The institute is now progressing toward AACSB Accreditation, a major milestone that will place among the world’s elite Triple Crown Accredited business schools.
