Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 13: In a significant political development, the entire unit of the BJP Mendhar, led by Mandal Pradhan Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, formally joined the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) at an impressive function held at the party's Provincial Headquarters, Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu.
The joining ceremony was presided over by Provincial President Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta, and graced by senior party leaders including Additional General Secretary Ajay Sadhotra, Cabinet Minister Javed Rana, and Advisor to the Hon'ble Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani.
Javed Rana, while addressing the gathering, said that the induction of Dr. Sanjeev Kumar's team will further strengthen the party at the grassroots level. "Dr. Sanjeev's extensive experience in public life and social service will greatly contribute to the party's mission of inclusive development," he noted.
Welcoming Dr. Sanjeev Kumar and his team into the party fold, Ajay Sadhotra described the development as a major boost to the National Conference's outreach in the Pir Panjal region. "This mass joining reflects the growing trust and confidence of the people in the inclusive and people-centric policies of the Omar Abdullah-led elected government," he said.
Rattan Lal Gupta, in his address, said that the event is not an isolated incident but part of a larger trend, a testament to the pro-people welfare schemes, inclusive politics, and outreach efforts undertaken by the Omar Abdullah government, especially towards mitigating the impact of recent weather-related losses in Jammu region.
Expressing gratitude to the party leadership for the warm welcome, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar said that it was the secular, development-oriented, and Jammu-centric vision of the Omar Abdullah-led government that inspired him and his colleagues to part ways with the divisive politics of the BJP. "The people of Pir Panjal are once again witnessing renewed developmental initiatives that had been stalled for nearly a decade. Under Omar Abdullah's leadership, the region is back on the development map," he said.
Nasir Aslam Wani, while welcoming Dr. Sanjeev Kumar and his colleagues into the party, said that their decision to join the National Conference reflects the growing public faith in Omar Abdullah's transparent, accountable, and inclusive governance.
"This joining is a clear message that people are yearning for politics of unity, dignity, and development - the kind that the National Conference has always stood for. The commitment shown by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar and his team will further energize our cadre in Pir Panjal and beyond," Wani said.
