JAMMU, Nov 13: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson and former Vice Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes Development Corporation, Balbir Ram Rattan, welcomed the launch of the subsidized helicopter service to Rajouri, describing it as a major relief for the people living in the hilly regions of the area.
He said that this service is a historic step toward strengthening regional connectivity, improving ease of travel, and ensuring faster response during emergencies.
Balbir Ram Rattan stated that the new helicopter service will significantly reduce travel time between Rajouri and Jammu, providing a fast, safe, and convenient travel option for ordinary citizens, government officials, emergency service personnel, and business travellers. He added that the service will shorten the distance, enabling timely delivery of essential services to the people of Rajouri.
He further said that this facility will prove to be a boon not only for transportation but also for economic and social development. Improved air connectivity will boost tourism and trade, creating new employment and income opportunities for local residents. The natural beauty of Rajouri and its surrounding areas will attract more tourists and investors once access becomes easier. Balbir Ram Rattan also noted that this facility will be especially useful during medical emergencies, allowing patients to be transported quickly to Jammu's major hospitals.
He emphasized that this helicopter service is not merely a mode of transport, but a means of development that will help connect remote and geographically challenging regions to the mainstream.
