KVK Reasi Trains Krishi Udyamis of KKGs, Input Dealers on INM

Reasi, Nov 16: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the aegis of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies of Jammu (SKUAST-J) concluded 15 days certificate course on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) here at KVK Reasi campus which was attended by a number of Krishi Udyamis of Kisan Khidmat Ghars(KKGs) and input dealers from different areas of both Reasi and Udhampur distts. of J&K. The programme was organised under the dynamic stewardship of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof.B.N.Tripathi and able guidance of Director Extension, Prof.Amrish Vaid of SKUAST-J. Prof.Amrish Vaid,Director Extension of SKUAST-J was the Chief Guest during the valedictory session.
He suggested the participants to take advantage of such type of useful training courses and assured every possible support from the Directorate of Extension.He stressed on the balanced application of essential nutrients in plants and discussed on the Integrated Nutrient Management.
He also guided participants on Integrated Farming System and emphasized on rural youth and women empowerment. He highlighted the marketing, branding and packaging of agro-inputs for more farm returns.He appreciated the efforts of KVK Reasi for organising the useful certificate course and encouraged KVK scientists for the welfare of the farming community. Earlier Dr.Banarsi Lal, Chief Scientist & Head of KVK Reasi Scientist warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and apprised him about the details the activities in the course.
He said that the trained persons can act as the extension agents in their respective areas who further can guide the farmers of their areas on the efficient use of organic and inorganic fertilizers.Sh.Rajinder Sharma, Chief Horticulture Officer, Reasi said that the Krishi Udyamis and input dealers should extend their knowledge to their fallow farmers so that their knowledge on balanced doses of fertilizers/manures can be upgraded. He guided the participants on different horticultural schemes undergoing in the distt. DDM NABARD, Reasi, Sh.Adarsh Gupta spoke on the banking literacy and also on the entrepreneurship development in agriculture.
Dr.Vijay Sharma, Deputy Director Extension, SKUAST-J also spoke during the programme and upgraded the knowledge of the participants.
Dr.Rohit Kumar, Department of Animal Husbandry,Reasi spoke on different schemes for the dairy farmers. Sh.Kamal Singh, Naib Sarpanch of the area thanked KVK Reasi for organizing such a useful programme. Special field visits and exposure visits at organic and natural farmers’ fields were also arranged by the KVK Reasi.
Dr.Mandeep Singh Azad, Dr.Sanjay Kaushal,Dr.Lalit Upadhyay,Dr.Arvinder Kumar, Dr.Jagdish Kumar, Sh. Manohar Lal,Sh.Rakesh Kundal,Sh.Mohd. Iqbal,Sh.Sahil Kanathia and Sh.Summer Qureshi were also present during the programme. Certificates were awarded to the participants by the Chief Guest during the programme. The programme was concluded by Dr.Mandeep Singh Azad, Scientist with formal vote of thanks.
