AMRITSAR, Dec 1: A delegation of faculty members and students from DAV College Amritsar led by Prof Sandeep Kumar Sharma and Prof Balram Singh Yadav attended the Regional Meet of the Institutions' Innovation Council (IIC) held at Panjab University, Chandigarh. The meet served as a dynamic platform for academic leaders and innovation champions to strategize on strengthening the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in higher education institutions across the region. The College Principal Dr Amardeep Gupta informed that the event, organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell (MIC), brought together IIC presidents, faculty coordinators, and innovation ambassadors from various colleges and universities. The agenda focused on best practices for fostering a culture of innovation, streamlining the startup support system, and effectively implementing the IIC's annual calendar of activities. Key discussions at the meet revolved around Mentorship and Funding, IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) Awareness, Encouraging problem-solving and entrepreneurial thinking aligned with national missions like Atma Nirbhar Bharat and Fostering inter-institutional partnerships to work on large-scale, impactful innovation projects. Dr Gupta added that attending the IIC regional meet at Panjab University was an immensely productive experience. It has provided us with valuable insights and a renewed roadmap to energize our own IIC activities at DAV. We are committed to translating these learnings into actionable plans that will empower our students to become job creators and not just job seekers. The DAV faculty delegation actively participated in the brainstorming sessions and networked with counterparts from other institutions, exploring potential collaborative ventures. This engagement underscores DAV's steadfast commitment to providing a stimulating environment that nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and an entrepreneurial spirit among its students. |
