Early Times Report DODA, Dec 10: On the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta-JKPS, Cyber Police Station Doda organized Cyber Awareness Day at Shaheen Public Higher Secondary School, Doda to sensitise students, teachers, and staff about emerging cyber threats and preventive measures. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students and school faculty. On this occasion, Inspector Surinder Vir Singh Chib from Cyber Police Station Doda delivered detailed lectures, educating the participants about: Use of cybercrime reporting portals, CEIR Portal for reporting stolen/missing mobile phones, Latest modus operandi adopted by fraudsters to deceive the public, Online financial frauds including credit card fraud, OTP frauds, QR code scan scams, online gaming frauds, and fraudulent loan assurances Participants were advised to keep their social media accounts secure, avoid interacting with unknown individuals on platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, etc., and adopt safe online practices. It is pertinent to mention that Cyber Awareness Programmes are regularly organized by J&K Police to spread awareness about cybercrimes, online frauds, and cheating, ensuring that the general public remains alert and does not fall victim to cyber fraudsters. |
