Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 7: Shahzad Alam (IAS), Director, Skill Development Department (SDD), Jammu & Kashmir, today undertook an extensive visit to Government Polytechnic Jammu to review the overall functioning of the institution and assess the facilities being provided to students. On arrival, Shahzad Alam IAS, Director SDD was warmly received by Er. Talet Mahmood, Principal, Government Polytechnic Jammu, along with senior faculty members. During the visit, the Director Sir conducted a comprehensive tour of the campus, inspecting academic blocks, laboratories, and workshops to assess the availability and condition of infrastructure and machinery. He paid particular attention to the Electrical Engineering laboratories, where he interacted with faculty members and reviewed the implementation of the curriculum. The Director Sir also reviewed the implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes, including MISSION YUVA, and emphasized the importance of skill upgradation programmes in empowering youth and aligning their competencies with industry requirements. While interacting with the staff, Shri Shahzad Alam Sir underscored the need to maintain high standards of technical education. He encouraged faculty members to place greater emphasis on practical training, innovation, and industry-oriented learning to better prepare students for employment opportunities. The visit concluded with a detailed discussion on future development plans aimed at strengthening the academic and training infrastructure at Government Polytechnic Jammu. |
