REASI, Jan 7: District Police Reasi has once again demonstrated its promptness and effectiveness by cracking a theft case within 24 hours at Police Station Katra.
On 05.01.2026, FIR No. 05/2026 U/S 331(4) & 305 BNS pertaining to theft was registered at Police Station Katra against an unknown person.
Acting swiftly on the case, the police team of Police Station Katra launched a focused investigation. As a result of sustained efforts, on 06.01.2026, the stolen property, i.e. one Samsung LED TV worth approximately ?20,000, was successfully recovered. The accused thief, identified as Sunil Kumar S/O Yashpal R/O Sughlar, Kaldi, District Udhampur, was traced, apprehended and arrested in the case.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
The entire operation was carried out by SHO P/S Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran, JKPS. SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh, JKPS reiterated that District Police Reasi remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the public. Reasi Police will continue to act firmly against crime and urges citizens to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activity without delay. |
