Jammu police bust criminal nexus of theft cases; stolen property recovered in Domana

Jammu, Jan 29: Jammu (Rural) Police achieved a major breakthrough by cracking two theft cases involving the theft of iron rods (Sariya) and drilling pipes of a bore well drilling vehicle in the Domana area.
In the first case,A written complaint was received at Police Station Domana from Ravinder Singh Bhau, S/o Thakur Rashpal Singh, R/o Ploura,Jammu, regarding the theft of iron rods (sariya) from his under construction house situated at Domana, Jammu.Accordingly, FIR No.06/2026 under Section 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Domana.
In 2nd case,An application was received from Sunil Choudhary, S/o Balwant Raj, R/o Kalsian, Nowshehra, Rajouri, regarding the theft of drilling pipes from a bore-well drilling vehicle parked at Muthi, Domana, during the intervening night of 27/28 November 2025 by unknown persons. Accordingly, a separate case FIR No.20/2026 under Section 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Domana.
During the course of investigation, the following accused persons were arrested:-
1.Sofian @ Thappa Pehelwan, S/o Mohd Abbas, R/o Bargi Gandoh, Doda, A/P Nikki Tawi, Beli Charana, Jammu.
2.Shabaz Hussain @ Munna Choudhary, S/o Mohd Shafi, R/o Govt. High School Pull Tawi, Nehru Market, Jammu.
During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed their involvement, along with other associates, in both theft cases.
On their disclosure, the following stolen property was recovered:-
1.Iron rods (sariya) worth approximately ₹18,000.
2.25 drilling pipes of a bore-well drilling vehicle worth approximately ₹2 lakh.
Further investigation is underway to establish additional linkages. Arrests of more accused persons are pending, and search operations are being conducted to trace them. More recoveries are expected after their arrest.
