Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 17: Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu, organized a comprehensive Career Counselling and Guidance Programme today in collaboration with the National Career Service Centre (NCSC) for SC/ST, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India. The event focused on enhancing the employability and professional confidence of the students through expert mentorship and awareness of national coaching schemes. The programme featured Shri Gopal Sharan, Sub-Regional Employment Officer and Head of Office, National Career Service Centre for SC/ST, Jammu, as the guest resource person. Representing the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, Shri Sharan provided an in-depth overview of the various vocational services available to students. He specifically highlighted the various schemes and opportunities available to students as well as the importance of personality development. He also motivated students to prepare for the evolving demands of the modern job market. In his message to students on the occasion, Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Gupta remarked that it was a matter of great pride and academic significance for the institution to host such a specialized programme. The Principal noted that this initiative reflects the college's unwavering commitment to the holistic development and professional empowerment of its students. By bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, he noted that the college aims to ensure that its graduates are not only well-educated but also transition seamlessly into meaningful careers. The Principal further emphasized that providing students with the tools necessary to navigate the competitive job market with confidence and technical proficiency remains a top priority for the institution. The event was coordinated by the Career Counselling Cell of the college, including Dr. Chetna Gupta, Dr. Jagmeet Kour, Dr. Jasvinder Singh, Prof. Binny Kumar, Prof. Shaji Khan, Dr. Fayza and Dr. Roomi Rani.
