SBM-Grameen promotional seminar held at Samba; DC emphasises Clean Villages Movement

SAMBA, Feb 17: The Directorate of Rural Sanitation, Jammu & Kashmir organised a Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) promotional seminar at the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex Samba, with the objective of strengthening community participation for sustainable rural sanitation and public health.
District Development Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan graced the programme as the chief guest. On the occasion, Swachh Bharat Mission J&K Brand Ambassador Nazakat Choudhary presented a token of respect to the chief guest.
The seminar witnessed participation from university experts, NGO representatives, members of the legal fraternity, senior district officers and members of the general public. Subject experts delivered lectures on behavioural change, solid and liquid waste management, source segregation and the role of community institutions in ensuring long-term sanitation sustainability.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest emphasised collective responsibility in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene and highlighted the importance of grassroots awareness. She appreciated the efforts of sanitation workers and field functionaries working to keep villages clean and healthy. Suggestions and feedback were also invited from the public to further strengthen implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen).
Sanitation workers were honoured for their dedicated services while mementos were presented to speakers and participants in recognition of their contribution.
At the conclusion of the programme, the District Development Commissioner directed all Block Development Officers to prepare comprehensive action plans for their respective blocks under the theme "Clean Villages, Healthy Community" to ensure effective and time-bound implementation of the Mission.
