Early Times Report JAMMU, May 13: Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress today staged a massive protest at Shaheedi Chowk Jammu against the NEET paper leak issue and burnt the effigy of Union Education Minister over the repeated controversies surrounding national level examinations. Supported by senior Congress leaders including Working President Shri Raman Bhalla Former Minister DCC President Jammu Yogesh Sawhney, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma Former MLC Ved Mahajan and others,the Youth Congress workers raised slogans against the central government, burnt the effigy of the Education Minister, and demanded Supreme Court monitored probe into the paper leakage issue spoiling the career of lakhs of candidates. The protest was organised as per the direction of Indian Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib and on the instructions of Anirudh Sawhney General Secretary J&K Pradesh Youth Congress. A large number of Pradesh Youth Congress office bearers, activists, and youth workers participated in the demonstration and expressed anger over the uncertainty and stress being faced by lakhs of students and their families due to repeated examination related controversies. Ranjodh Singh; Dr. Suhaib Manhas Secretary JKPYC, Amir Malik Joint Secretary, Haris Aly Joint Secretary PYC, Hussaini Mubarak Chowdhary Assembly General Secretary, Harris Assembly General Secretary, youth leaders Ahmed Sharif (Gibran), Danish Iqbal, Mohsin, Tahir, Arsalan, Aayan, Bali, Zuhaib, Wasim, Rehbar, Umar, and Sami, among others led the protest. Senior JKPCC Leaders also joined the protest to support the resentment and anger of youth .They included Working President Raman Bhalla, Former Minister J&K Yogesh Sawhney, Chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma and Ex MLC Ved Mahajan, Iqbal Dar, Virender Manhas, Rakesh Sharma, Sohit Sharma, Vijaynt Pathania, Jatin Vashisht, Raj Kumar Sodhi, Amit, Asha Chandan, Kamlesh Manhas, and others. Addressing the gathering, Youth Congress leaders said that the repeated incidents of paper leaks, exam irregularities, and cancellation of examinations have completely exposed the failure of the BJP-led central government in ensuring a transparent and fair examination system. They said that students spend years preparing for competitive examinations with great dedication, but the government's negligence and inability to conduct examinations fairly have shattered the confidence of the youth. The leaders further stated that the NEET controversy has created panic and frustration among students across the country, especially among those from middle class and economically weaker families who invest their time, energy, and resources in preparing for such exams. They said that instead of addressing the genuine concerns of students, the government has remained silent and insensitive towards their suffering. During the protest, demonstrators carried placards and raised slogans demanding justice for students and strict action against those responsible for examination irregularities. The protesters also criticised the Education Ministry for repeatedly failing to maintain the credibility of national examinations and stated that the future of the country's youth cannot be compromised due to administrative failures and corruption. |
