Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 13: The Art of Living Jammu Chapter celebrated the 70th Birthday of Poojya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji along with the 45th year of The Art of Living through a grand evening of satsang, meditation, music, and devotion at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu. Devotees, spiritual seekers, Art of Living teachers, volunteers, Apex members, and dignitaries gathered in large numbers to celebrate Gurudev's timeless message of peace, happiness, and human values.
The evening commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Swami Kumar Ji Maharaj, revered Kashmiri Pandit spiritual leader and founder of Swami Kumarji Geeta Satsang Ashram, along with Sh. Tej Krishan Ganjoo Ji, President Arya Samaj J&K, noted philanthropist and educationist.
The satsang created an atmosphere of bliss, peace, and joy with soulful bhajans by renowned singer Divya Venugopal, guided meditation, devotional performances, and collective celebrations dedicated to Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji. The traditional Thanksgiving Ceremony honouring the Tradition of Masters and reflections on Gurudev's teachings formed an integral part of the evening.
As part of the celebrations, participants also joined the special "World Meditates with Gurudev" live global meditation session conducted by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji during the satsang. The meditation connected people across the world in a collective prayer for peace, harmony, and inner stillness. Gurudev's message of meditation, breathwork, and human values resonated deeply with the audience.
The celebration in Jammu formed part of nationwide and international festivities marking Gurudev's 70th birthday and the 45th anniversary of The Art of Living movement, which has transformed millions of lives through meditation, stress-relief programmes, humanitarian outreach, and service initiatives. Organisers also highlighted that Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji visited The Art of Living International Centre on May 10 to mark the historic celebrations and acknowledge Gurudev's contribution towards spirituality, human values, and social transformation.
