REASI, May 27: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the "Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan", District Police Reasi achieved another success by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering heroin from his possession. On 26.05.2026, Police Station Reasi received reliable information that one person namely Mohd Tariq S/O Ghulam Mohd, Caste Muslim, R/O Jij, Thakrakote, Reasi was travelling in a red coloured Wagon-R car bearing registration No. JK20-8180 from Reasi towards Jyotipuram road near Bada Pathar Mari and was carrying heroin for supplying the same to unknown persons in the nearby area for wrongful gain. Acting swiftly on the information, Police Station Reasi registered FIR No. 93/2026 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act and initiated investigation into the matter. During investigation, approximately 16.67 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the accused, who was subsequently taken into custody. Further investigation into the case is underway to ascertain forward and backward linkages involved in the narcotics network. |
