REASI, May 27: Continuing its relentless drive against drug trafficking under the "Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan", District Police Reasi achieved another success by apprehending a suspected drug peddler and recovering heroin from his possession.
On 26.05.2026 at about 2250 hours, during routine patrolling near IRP Chowk, Reasi, a police party noticed one suspicious person who attempted to flee from the spot on seeing the police personnel. Acting swiftly, the police party apprehended the individual and conducted his personal search.
During the search, approximately 2.57 grams of heroin wrapped in black polythene was recovered from his possession. The accused was identified as Ganesh Kumar S/o Romesh Kumar R/o Gladu, Panasa, Reasi, A/P Seela, Reasi.
In this regard, FIR No. 95/2026 under sections 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi.
