Early Times Report POONCH, June 3: PM SHRI Girls High School, Degwar M, Poonch today organized a comprehensive seminar on Cyber Safety Awareness with the objective of sensitizing students and teachers about the growing challenges of cybercrime and the importance of safe digital practices. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DAR) Shashikant Raina was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Inspector Shakeel Ahmed, SHO Cyber Police Station Poonch, served as the Key Speaker. During his address, Inspector Shakeel Ahmed elaborated on various forms of cybercrimes and the modus operandi adopted by cybercriminals to deceive unsuspecting individuals. He highlighted common online frauds, cyber threats, and preventive measures that citizens should adopt to safeguard themselves in the digital world. He urged students to remain vigilant while using social media, online banking platforms, and other internet-based services. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Deputy Superintendent of Police Shashikant Raina stressed the need for mass awareness regarding cyber safety. He remarked that drug abuse and cybercrime are two of the major challenges confronting society today and called upon teachers to play a proactive role in educating the masses. He also advised students to use mobile phones and the internet responsibly and with utmost caution. Earlier, Darshan Kumar, School Nodal Officer (SNO) for Cyber Safety and PM SHRI Component, welcomed the guests and highlighted the various initiatives being undertaken by the school for the holistic development and safety of students. Parveen Kumar, Master, presented bouquets to the distinguished guests as a token of respect and appreciation. Addressing the gathering, Headmaster Ms. Nazneen Akhter emphasized the importance of digital literacy and responsible online behaviour. She urged students to become informed and responsible digital citizens and thanked the resource persons for enlightening the students on a highly relevant and contemporary issue. Sub Inspector Sunil Saini also spoke on the occasion. A symposium on cyber safety was also organized in which students participated enthusiastically and expressed their views on safe internet practices and cyber awareness. In the Higher Classes Category, Shahida Fatima secured the first position, Suranshi Sharma secured the second position, and Toaiba Tabassum secured the third position. In the Middle Classes Category, Misba Sajad secured the first position. The proceedings of the programme were conducted efficiently by Neetu Sharma, while the event concluded with a vote of thanks to the guests, participants, and organizers for making the programme a success. |
