| GDC, Vijaypur organizes anti-drug pledge campaign under ‘Nasha Mukt Saptah’ | | | Early Times Report VIJAYPUR, June 18: As part of the ongoing nationwide initiative to eradicate substance abuse, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government Degree College, Vijaypur organized a massive anti-drug pledge campaign today. The event was held under the banner of Nasha Mukt Saptah (Anti-Drug Addiction Week), aligned with the national theme "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan- Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchaan" (Drug-Free India Campaign: The Identity of a Developed India), alongside the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) global directive "Break the Cycle #Stop Organized Crime". The campaign was conducted under the able guidance and supervision of the college Principal, Dr. Sanjeet Kaur. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kaur emphasized the critical role of educational institutions and youth in building a drug-free society. She noted that a healthy, substance-free youth is the backbone of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) and urged the volunteers to act as ambassadors of change in their respective communities by spreading awareness about the devastating effects of narcotics. The entire event was meticulously coordinated by NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Arti Sharma. In her address, Dr. Sharma highlighted the connection between local substance abuse and global organized crime networks. She motivated the NSS volunteers to actively break the chain of drug supply and demand, reinforcing the international call to action, #Stop Organized Crime.
