Early Times Report YOL (HIMACHAL PRADESH), June 18: On the 68th day of the ongoing 78-day Yajna dedicated to the study and propagation of the four Vedas at Ved Mandir, Yol, renowned Vedic scholar and Yoga Acharya Swami Ram Swarup Ji addressed devotees on the authentic Vedic concept of God and the proper method of worship as prescribed in the Vedas. Swami Ji explained that in the present age, people often follow various man-made paths of devotion and worship according to their personal preferences. However, he emphasized that the ultimate truth is that God, the Creator of the universe, has Himself revealed His knowledge, attributes, actions and the method of worship through the four Vedas. He observed that due to the widespread neglect of Vedic teachings concerning the true nature and worship of God, humanity continues to suffer. Since the four Vedas originate directly from the Supreme Being, they alone constitute eternal and infallible truth. Referring to Atharvaveda, Kanda 20, Sukta 34, Swami Ji elaborated on the meaning of the term Parmeshwar (God). He explained that after creating the universe, God established the earth, sun, moon and other celestial bodies in a perfectly regulated system through His infinite knowledge and power. As a result, all planets continue to move in the vast expanse of space without support and without colliding with one another. Swami Ji further stated that the One who punishes the wicked, protects the righteous, supports both the wealthy and the weak, guides the learned and the seekers of liberation, and governs all living beings through His divine laws is called Parmeshwar. He added that God is the Creator of the sun, the dawn and water, which sustains life and quenches thirst. The Supreme Being is also the ultimate protector invoked by people in times of danger and conflict and is the dispenser of justice who punishes sinners, wrongdoers and oppressors. Explaining the Vedic philosophy further, Swami Ji said that the four Vedas describe God as omnipotent, omnipresent and endowed with infinite divine qualities. It is through His own power that He creates, sustains and ultimately dissolves the universe after a fixed period. Thereafter, He recreates and sustains it again. This eternal cycle of creation, preservation and dissolution has continued since time immemorial and is governed solely by the Supreme Being. He urged devotees to understand the knowledge, qualities, actions, nature and worship of God as revealed in the Vedas and to worship Him accordingly. Worship based solely on personal preferences, without reference to divine Vedic guidance, is contrary to Vedic teachings. Quoting Rigveda Mantra 10/125/4, Swami Ji emphasized that disregarding God's prescribed path of worship and following self-created methods amounts to acting against the divine will. The discourse concluded with devotees expressing deep appreciation for the profound insights into Vedic wisdom and the eternal message of the Vedas regarding the nature and worship of the Supreme God. |
