Early Times Report JAMMU, July 7: Prof. (Dr.) B. N. Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, has been elected Fellow of the prestigious Royal Society of Biology, United Kingdom, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to veterinary sciences, animal health, agricultural research and higher education. A globally acclaimed academician and veterinarian, Prof. Tripathi has held several key positions, including Deputy Director General, ICAR; Director, ICAR-National Research Centre on Camel; and Director, National Institute of Animal Health, Baghpat. He is already a Fellow of several reputed academies and societies, including the Royal College of Pathologists, London and the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, India. He has authored over 250 research papers, six books, policy papers and national action plans, besides contributing to the development of diagnostics, patents and vaccines, including Lumpi-ProVac for Lumpy Skin Disease. Under his leadership, SKUAST-Jammu has made remarkable progress in academics, research, innovation, international collaborations, patents, publications, infrastructure, startup incubation and farmer outreach. The university has expanded collaborations across 18 countries, incubated 119 agri-startups and reaching to over 2 lakh farmers through extension and digital platform annually. The SKUAST-Jammu fraternity and people from various walks of life congratulated Prof. Tripathi on this prestigious achievement, calling it a well-deserved recognition of his visionary leadership, scientific excellence and service to society. |
