Jammu, Aug 6: A horrifying tale of betrayal and bloodlust has shaken Jammu's Bishnah area, where a monster masquerading as a father bludgeoned his own 11-year-old stepson to death — smashing the child's skull with bricks and stones in an act so brutal it has left the entire region in shock.
Police swung into action the moment word broke, arresting the accused and launching a deep probe into what could have driven a man to annihilate a child he was supposed to protect.
The victim has been identified as 11-year-old Rohit. His stepfather, Ravi, a factory labourer employed in Bari Brahmana in neighbouring Samba district, had married Rohit's mother roughly five years ago. On Wednesday, under the guise of taking the boy out for a stroll, Ravi lured the unsuspecting child away from the safety of his home — never to bring him back alive.
Dragging the innocent boy to an isolated, deserted spot, Ravi unleashed a merciless barrage of b
Rohit’s head using bricks and heavy stones, pounding the child until he breathed his last on the spot. In a chilling bid to erase all traces of his monstrous crime, the accused then dumped the blood-soaked body of his own stepson into nearby waters, hoping the evidence would vanish along with the boy.

In a chilling bid to erase all traces of his monstrous crime, the accused then dumped the blood-soaked body of his own stepson into nearby waters, hoping the evidence would vanish along with the boy.
The moment police reached the scene, they were met with a sight that could shatter even the toughest hearts. Rohit's mother, clutching what remained of her shattered world, wailed uncontrollably over her child's lifeless body — her heart-wrenching cries echoing through the neighbourhood and bringing onlookers to tears.
Acting swiftly, police arrested the accused stepfather and have launched an intense interrogation to unearth the twisted motive behind this gruesome killing. Investigators are combing through every possible angle — including a suspected family dispute — as they race to piece together what pushed a father to turn executioner of his own son.
