GOI kept window for talks open, talks to begin soon
11/5/2019 11:01:38 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 5: The union government is likely to keep an option of restoration of the statehood open in Jammu and Kashmir and parleys with the state based leadership could revolve around this particular issue alone. Speculations are rife that a majority of the detained leadership of Jammu and Kashmir is being released and talks with them to normalize the situation will begin thereafter. However, the government of India seem to be adamant to talk alone on the restoration of the statehood and not on any other matter pertaining to 370 and its related clauses. “The GOI has kept the window slightly open and has hinted at giving back the statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. If you remember the speeches of Home Minister and of the Prime Minister you can recall that both have said that the union territory is temporary and statehood will be restored as and when situation witnesses betterment,” says a member of Kashmir based political group. According to him, the air is thick with the speculations that the government may hold parleys with the leaders and will release them...
