Jammu reports 24 fire incidents on Diwali night

Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 5: Seeing a dip by 20 percent this year, as many as 24 fire incidents were reported at different locations on the Diwali night in the Jammu district. However, a total 34 incidents were reported across the Jammu Division. “On Diwali night, 24 incidents were reported in different parts of the Jammu district in which goods worth lakhs have been destroyed as last year the number of incidents were 29,” an official said. Sharing break up he said that in posh Gandhi Nagar locality, eight incidents, six in Panjtirthi, four in Gangyal, three in Roop Nagar, and one each in Akhnoor, R S Pura and Arnia were reported.“This year there was a dip by 20 percent in incidents of fire,” he said. The Jammu and Kashmir administration had fixed a two hours time slot for crackers bursting on Diwali night. Meanwhile a total of 34 incidents of fire were reported in the Jammu division this time. Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 5: J&K's Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday produced chargesheet against the then Sub Inspector Excise and Taxation Department in the court for accumulating "huge assets disproportionate to his known source of income". Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 5: A brief gunfight broke between militants and forces in the premises of a prominent Srinagar hospital on Friday, triggering panic among people. Police said the militants, however, managed to escape. The exchange of fire took place in the premises of SKIMS Bemina Srinagar.
