Govt to probe multi-crore Covid-19 fund utilization in Kashmir

Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 6: Amid mounting complaints of alleged misuse of the Covid-19 funding worth crores in Kashmir, New Delhi is looking ahead to call for a high level probe into the matter. Sources said the government would start initial investigations in the coming days and “if the need arises” the case could be handed over to some central investigation agency. While the Union Government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi open- heartedly provided funds to Jammu and Kashmir to combat the pandemic, there are numerous complaints of alleged corruption and misuse of the funds. Sources said apart from heads of atleast three health institutions in Kashmir, some of the officials at the helm at district levels have also come under scanner. Sources said the New Delhi has complaints that such officials made unnecessary bulk purchases at exorbitant prices putting the government to undue financial burden. EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 6: The entire Jammu province had to face an open discrimination in the allocation of kerosene oil by the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) for the month of August and September this year. Surprisingly the ten districts of Jammu province have got merely 792 kilolitres of Kerosene Oil supply for two months, while for the same months the Kashmir province got over nine times more volumes of oil that was 5496 kilo litres of oil.
