Early Times Report jammu, Mar 22: The prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir due to the deadly virus (COVID-19) threat has put the release of two former J&K chief ministers, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti on a back burner. NC president Farooq Abdullah, who was released from custody after seven months earlier this month was seen pitching seriously for the release of his son Omar and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti. He had even termed the release of these leaders important for the political process to resume in Jammu and Kashmir. However, due to the Coronavirus scare and government's attention completely dedicated towards preventing the spread of the disease, the issue pertaining to release of Mehbooba and Omar has been put on hold. According to the reports, Central Government was contemplating to release Omar and Mehbooba soon. However, due to the COVID-19 threat no final decision has been taken yet. Early Times Report jammu, Mar 22: Seven flights were cancelled at the Jammu airport on Sunday in view of the ''Janta Curfew'', an Airports Authority of India official said. These included four GoAir flights and one each of IndiGo, Vistara and SpiceJet, the official said. "A total of 21 flights were scheduled to operate from the Jammu airport today (Sunday). While seven flights got cancelled, the rest of the flights operated between 8.30 am and 3.15 pm," the AAI official said. Early Times Report jammu, Mar 22: The J&K government on Sunday said that 3,938 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been put under surveillance and so far, only four cases have tested positive for coronavirus in Jammu & Kashmir. According to the daily media bulletin on coronavirus (COVID-19), 2,727 persons have been kept under home quarantine while 59 are in hospital quarantine.
