Dynasts’ made Jammu pay fee as business establishments in Srinagar work without SMC registration

Early Times Report Srinagar, Mar 18: In a shocking development it has been found that the previous regimes allowed most of the banks, and business institutions including hotels, restaurants and shops in Srinagar to run without registration from the Srinagar Municipal Corporation thereby meaning that such institutions have not being paying requisite fee towards the SMC while Jammu city has been paying crores of rupees on such lines. Officials said over the years the SMC has been facing major loss to the tune of crores of rupees due to the non registration of such offices who were supposed to pay regular fee. Official documents accessed by the Early Times reveal that the SMC has served notices to the concerned to get registered. “Through the medium of this notice, all banks are directed to get their branches registered with the Srinagar Municipal Corporation by the end of March 2020, otherwise their establishments will be deemed as illegal and shall be initiated against the offenders under section 384, 388(i) and 389 of the Municipal Corporation Act of 2000 without serving any no...

Agencies New Delhi, Mar 18: The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the Centre and Jammu and Kashmir administration to inform by next week if it is releasing former chief minister Omar Abdullah, who has been detained since the abrogation of Article 370 in August last year. Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 18: In a major relief to the people of Jammu & Kashmir, the Administrative Council which met under the chairmanship of LG Girish Chander Murmu accorded sanction to roll out the Jammu & Kashmir Health Scheme to provide free of cost Universal Health Coverage to all residents of the Union Territory in convergence with Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY. Now, around 1.25 crore residents of J&K will be provided the same benefits as are listed under Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY.
